Defence counsel office Fila from Belgrade, which represented Mladjo Radic before the International Criminal Tribunal in the Hage, turned to the Secretariat on behalf of their client asking Republika Srpska Government to provide guaranties for Mladjo Radic to be temporarily released.
In their request, defence counsel explained that the reason for temporary release was of personal nature and relates to the period from 15-22 July 2005 which Mladjo Radic would spend in Prijedor.
After completion of the documentation, the Secretariat transmitted the request to the Republika Srpska Government for further consideration.
In the case number IT-98-30/1, “Omarska and Keraterm Camps”, Mladjo Radic was found guilty by the Trial and Appeals Chamber and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. After the sentence came into effect, Mladjo Radic is still placed in the detention Unit of the International Tribunal in the Hague and waiting for the decision to be sent to the prison for serving the sentence.
